Hello! Yes, it´s me and it is time to make another post to this blog...... since 2013???!!!

Well, thank you Aerling for reminding my blog to me :). Life is been soo busy, that I haven´t had much time for PC.

This card comes from my dear Adobe, and dates back to 2009. :D

On this card you can see the Glacier National Park. The road is named Going to the Sun Road.
The road winds across the Continental Divide at Logan Pass. It is the only road in Glacier thta connects the west and east sides of the Park. The 52-mile long drive offers some of the most spetacular high country scenery accessible by car in the US.
Mayflower II is a replica of the 17th-century ship Mayflower, celebrated for transporting the Pilgrims to the New World. The replica was built in Devon, England, during 1955–1956, in a collaboration between Englishman Warwick Charlton and Plimoth Plantation,
an American museum. The work drew from reconstructed ship blueprints

shipbuilders' using traditional methods. On April 20, 1957, recreating the original voyage, Mayflower II was sailed across the Atlantic Ocean, under the command of Alan Villiers.
According to the ship's log, Mayflower II was towed up the East River

Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. It is the fourteenth-largest city in the European Union. It is also the historical capital of Bohemia proper. Situated in the north-west of the country on the Vltava river, the city is home to about 1.3 million people, while its larger urban zone is estimated to have a population of nearly 2 million. The city has a temperate oceanic climate, with warm summers and chilly winters.

Prague has been a political, cultural, and economic centre of central
Europe with waxing and waning fortunes during its 1,100-year existence.
Founded during the Romanesque and flourishing by the Gothic and Renaissance eras, Prague was not only the capital of the Czech state, but also the seat of two Holy Roman Emperors and thus also the capital of the Holy Roman Empire. It was an important city to the Habsburg Monarchy and its Austro-Hungarian Empire and after World War I became the capital of Czechoslovakia. The city played major roles in the Protestant Reformation, the Thirty Years' War, and in 20th-century history, during both World Wars and the post-war Communist era.
Prague is home to a number of famous cultural attractions, many of
which survived the violence and destruction of 20th century Europe. Main
attractions include the Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, the Jewish Quarter, the Lennon Wall, and Petřín hill. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
Morocco has a population of over 32 million and an area of 446,550 km2 (172,410 sq mi); if Western Sahara is included that would be 710,850 km2 (274,460 sq mi). The political capital is Rabat, although the largest city is Casablanca; other major cities include Marrakesh, Tangier, Tetouan, Salé, Fes, Agadir, Meknes, Oujda, Kenitra, and Nador. Morocco administers most of the disputed region of the Western Sahara as the Southern Provinces.
The status of Western Sahara remains unresolved. Morocco annexed the
territory in 1975 and a guerrilla war with pro-independence forces ended
in 1991. U.N. efforts have failed to break the political deadlock.
Morocco is a constitutional monarchy with an elected parliament. The King of Morocco holds vast executive and legislative powers, including the power to dissolve the parliament. Executive power is exercised by the government but the king's decisions usually override those of the government if there is a contradiction. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the two chambers of parliament, the Assembly of Representatives and the Assembly of Councillors. The king can also issue decrees called dahirs which have the force of law.
The main religion is Islam. The official language is Literary Arabic. Moroccan Arabic, Berber and French are also spoken. Hassaniya Arabic, sometimes considered a variety of Moroccan Arabic, is spoken in parts of the southern provinces (Western Sahara).
A new country in my collection Morocco. My family was visiting Morocco and they brought me some cool postcards from there .
Tinghir (Arabic: تنغير, Tamazight: ⵜⵉⵏⵖⵉⵔ) is a city in the region of Tinghir, south of the High Atlas and north of the Little Atlas in southeastern Morocco. Its name originally referred to the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, but its area has expanded to encompass surrounding villages and refers to the entire oasis.
The city of Tinghir (Baladia tinghir) has a population of 36,000 and the area has 86,500 inhabitants, according to the 2004 census. The predominant ethnic group is Amazighs, and the city is at the center of one of the most attractive oases in southern Morocco. Lush palm trees cover about 30 miles (48 km) on 500-to-1,500-metre (550 to 1,600 yd)-wide tracts along the Wadi Todgha. After the Todra Gorge, Wadi Todgha has a difficult passage along the southern slopes of the Atlas Mountains (Tizgui);
it then flows across the plain, meandering slightly over 20 kilometres
(12 mi) to Ferkla. The palm oasis, dense and widespread, is irrigated by
a network of pipes and irrigation canals. Occasional heavy rains are
absorbed in a few days.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0Tinghir, Maroko31.514722199999991 -5.532777799999962631.406424199999989 -5.6941392999999625 31.623020199999992 -5.3714162999999626tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1546628831541197859.post-25371387357084590862013-04-17T08:16:00.002+03:002013-04-17T08:16:46.539+03:00Arctic Circle

The Arctic Circle is one of the five major circles of latitude that mark maps of the Earth. In 2012, it is the parallel of latitude that runs 66° 33′ 44″ (or 66.5622°) north of the Equator.
The region north of this circle is known as the Arctic, and the zone just to the south is called the Northern Temperate Zone. The equivalent polar circle in the Southern Hemisphere is called the Antarctic Circle.
The Arctic Circle is the southernmost latitude in the Northern
Hemisphere at which the sun can remain continuously above or below the
horizon for 24 hours (at the June solstice and December solstice respectively). North of the Arctic Circle, the sun is above the horizon for 24 continuous hours
at least once per year (and therefore visible at midnight) and below
the horizon for 24 continuous hours at least once per year. On the
Arctic Circle those events occur, in principle, exactly once per year,
at the June and December solstices, respectively.
It would therefore seem that the Arctic Circle marks the southern extremity of the northern hemisphere polar day (24-hour sunlit day, often referred to as the midnight sun) and polar night (24-hour sunless night). In fact, because of atmospheric refraction and mirages, and because the sun appears as a disk and not a point, part of the midnight sun may be seen on the night of the northern summer solstice up to about 50′ (90 km (56 mi)) south of the Arctic Circle; similarly, on the day of the northern winter solstice,
part of the sun may be seen up to about 50′ north of the Arctic Circle.
That is true at sea level; those limits increase with elevation above
sea level although in mountainous regions, there is often no direct view
of the true horizon.
The position of the Arctic Circle is not fixed. It directly depends on the Earth's axial tilt, which fluctuates within a margin of 2° over a 40,000 year period, notably due to tidal forces resulting from the orbit of the Moon. Sweden is my fave country in the planet Earth . This postcard is from our swap with Anders ,who was so kind that he sent me huge pile of swedish postcards.Tack ,Anders :)

On this postacard you can see the Swedish Royal Family , since 1818 consists of a number of persons in the Swedish Royal House of Bernadotte, closely related to the King of Sweden. They are entitled to royal titles and style (manner of address), and some perform official engagements and ceremonial duties of state. The extended family of the King consists of other close relatives who are not royal.
Prior to 1818, the Swedish Royal Family was the House of Holstein-Gottorp, a cadet branch of the Oldenburg dynasty which ruled Sweden from 1457 to 1521 (then intermittently) and from 1751 until 1818. That dynasty's last legal pretender to the Swedish throne was Prince Gustav of Wasa (1799-1877) whose only son Louis predeceased him in infancy in 1832.

Current members:
According to the Swedish Government, the Royal Family includes the following:

The monarch and his spouse:

Her Majesty Queen Silvia (since 19 June 1976), born on 23 December 1943.

The Hebrew alfabet , is used in the writing of the Hebrew language, as well as other Jewish languages, most notably Yiddish, Ladino, and Judeo-Arabic. There have been two script forms in use. The original old Hebrew script is known as the paleo-Hebrew script (which has been largely preserved, in an altered form, in the Samaritan script), while the present "square" form of the Hebrew alphabet is a stylized form of the Aramaic script. Various "styles" (in current terms, "fonts") of representation of the letters exist. There is also a cursive Hebrew script, which has also varied over time and place.

The Hebrew alphabet has 22 letters, of which five have different forms when used at the end of a word. Hebrew is written from right to left. Originally, the alphabet was an abjad consisting only of consonants. Like other abjads, such as the Arabic alphabet, means were later devised to indicate vowels by separate vowel points, known in Hebrew as niqqud. In rabbinic Hebrew, the letters א ה ו י are also used as matres lectionis to represent vowels. When used to write Yiddish,
the writing system is a true alphabet (except for borrowed Hebrew
words). In modern usage of the alphabet, as in the case of Yiddish
(except that ע replaces ה) and to some extent modern Israeli Hebrew, vowels may be indicated. Today, the trend is toward full spelling with these letters acting as true vowels.

Before the adoption of the present script, Hebrew was written by the ancient Israelites, both Jews and Samaritans, using the paleo-Hebrew alphabet. During the 3rd century BC, Jews began to use a stylized form of the Aramaic alphabet, while the Samaritans continued to use a form of the paleo-Hebrew script, called the Samaritan script.
The present "square script" Hebrew alphabet is a stylized version of
the Aramaic alphabet which was adopted from that used by the Persian Empire (which in turn was adopted from the Arameans).
After the fall of the Persian Empire, Jews used both scripts before
settling on the Aramaic form. For a limited time thereafter, the use of
the paleo-Hebrew script among Jews was retained only to write the Tetragrammaton, but soon that custom was also abandoned.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1546628831541197859.post-74579592963734634012013-02-09T09:21:00.005+02:002013-02-09T09:21:58.172+02:00Tundra wolf

The Tundra wolf (Canis lupus arctos) is a subspecies of Gray Wolf native to the tundra and forest zones in the European and Asian parts of Russia and Kamchatka. Outside Russia, its range includes the extreme north of Scandinavia.
It is a large subspecies, with adult males measuring 118-137 cm
(46-54 in) in length, and females 112-136 cm (44-54 in). Tail length in
males is 42-52 cm (17-20 in), in females it is 41-49 cm (16-19 in).
Although often written to be larger than forest wolves, this is untrue,
as heavier forest wolves have been recorded. Average weight for males is
40-49 kg (88-108 lb). Females average 36.6-41 kg (81-90 lbs). The
highest weight recorded among 500 wolves caught in the Taymyr Peninsula and the Kanin Peninsula during 1951-1961 was from an old male killed on the Taymyr at the north of the Dudypta River
weighing 52 kg (115 lb). The fur is very long, dense, fluffy and soft.
The top hairs are 150-160 mm, the guard hairs 80-150 mm and the underfur
70 mm. The fur is usually light and grey in colour. The lower fur is
lead-grey and the upper fur is reddish-grey. Its fur and size are so similar to that of large Canadian wolves that their pelts are often sold together.
The tundra wolf usually makes its den in river valleys and thickets in dry plateaus, and tends to form packs of 5-7 members. It feeds primarily on wild and domestic reindeer and snow sheep in their eastern range. It also preys on hares and arctic foxes.
It rarely forms permanent territories, travelling 200-300 km annually
to accompany reindeer migrations. Reindeer losses to tundra wolves can
be considerable for the Nenets people, who rely on them for subsistence; in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug,
1708 reindeer were killed by tundra wolves in 1951, and 7048 others
were scattered. In the decade between 1944-1954, tundra wolves killed
75,000 reindeer.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0Mikkeli linn, Soome61.685807399999987 27.27348759999995336.163772899999984 -14.035106400000046 87.207841899999991 68.582081599999952tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1546628831541197859.post-37366646043841531542013-02-09T09:01:00.000+02:002013-02-09T09:01:26.966+02:00Dornbusch lighthouse on Hindensee

I don´t have many lighthouse cards ,but when I recive them I am happy :) .This postcard is from Germany and it is showing Dornbusch lighthouse .

Dornbusch Lighthouse (German: Leuchtturm Dornbusch) refers to the lighthouse officially designated as Leuchtfeuer Dornbusch/Hiddensee ("Dornbusch/Hiddensee Beacon") in the north of the German island of Hiddensee in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on the Baltic Sea coast. Its international serial number is C 2588.
The lighthouse stands on the 72-metre-high Schluckswiek in the so-called Hochland ("highland") area of the island.
  The lighthouse
was built in 1887/1888 of brick construction. It was taken into service
on 19 November 1888. It was modified from 1927 to 1929 and fitted with a
reinforced-concrete shell. It is 28 metres high and has a focal height
of 95 metres above mean sea level in the Baltic Sea. The observation
gallery is located at a height of 20 metres. Its light has the following
ranges: white 24.9 nautical miles (45 kilometres) and red 21.3 nautical
miles (38 kilometres). Its characteristic is Flashing White Red,
2.4 seconds on, 7.6 seconds off. Its light source is a metal-halide lamp. I got this beautiful postcard from Elena from Padova ,Italy. It is showing the map of Toscana .

Toscana is a region in Italy .The regional capital is Firenze .
Tuscany is known for its landscapes, traditions, history, artistic legacy and its permanent influence on high culture. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance
and has been home to many figures influential in the history of art and
science. As a result, the region boasts museums (such as the Uffizi, the Pitti Palace and the Chianciano Museum of Art). Tuscany is famous for its wines, including the well-known Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino.
This postcard also shows some Unesco´s . Six Tuscan localities have been designated World Heritage Sites: the historic centre of Florence (1982); the historical centre of Siena (1995); the square of the Cathedral of Pisa (1987); the historical centre of San Gimignano (1990); the historical centre of Pienza (1996); and the Val d'Orcia (2004). Tuscany has over 120 protected nature reserves,
making Tuscany and its capital Florence popular tourist destinations
that attract millions of tourists every year. Florence receives an
average of 10 million tourists a year, making the city one of the most
visited in the world. (In 2007, the city became the world's 46th most
visited city, with over 1.715 million arrivals).Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0Toscana, Itaalia43.5671153 10.98070029999996740.6121753 5.8171262999999671 46.5220553 16.144274299999967tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1546628831541197859.post-74897363396280858532012-12-07T20:58:00.000+02:002012-12-07T20:58:43.103+02:00Oskarshamn Oskarshamn is a costal city in Sweden and has 17 528 inhabitants(2010)
The location of Oskarshamn was known as Döderhultsvik since the medieval
age. In 1645, the city of Kalmar, to the south, made a request to the
Royal Government on holding commerce in the bay there, which was
granted, giving it merchancy rights as a köping.
There followed 200 years of merchancies in the town, during which it
was governed and dependent on Kalmar; while the surrounding towns and
municipalities made frequent requests to grant it a charter,
consequently turned down each of the attempts made in the years: 1786,
1798, 1800, 1815, 1818, 1823, 1825, 1830 and 1838. In 1843 it got some
independence, with a local council, but the council itself was occupied
by citizens of Kalmar. In 1854, the King Oscar I of Sweden
promised to grant it a charter as soon as it had fulfilled certain
demands, including building a prison and a council hall, among other
things. When they had accomplished the feats, the charter was granted,
and the city became one of the Cities of Sweden starting 1856, on May 1. This status has today no legal significance,
but Oskarshamn is now the seat of the much larger Oskarshamn
Municipality, without being a political entity of its own.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1546628831541197859.post-27158796156760078902012-12-07T20:30:00.001+02:002012-12-07T20:30:20.737+02:00The Royal Warship Vasa

Vasa is one of the coolest things I have ever seen(beside a submarine :D,but this is a diffrent story )

Vasa museum in Stockholm,Sweden is one of the coolest museums in Swede. It is a must when visiting Stockholm.

Vasa is a Swedish warship built 1626-1628. The ship foundered and sank after sailing less than a nautical mile (ca 2 km) into its maiden voyage on 10 August 1628. It fell into obscurity after most of its valuable bronze cannon were salvaged in the 17th century. After it was located again in the late 1950s in a busy shipping lane just outside the Stockholm harbor, it was salvaged with a largely intact hull in 1961. It was housed in a temporary museum called Wasavarvet ("The Wasa Shipyard") until 1987 and then moved to the Vasa Museum
in Stockholm. The ship is one of Sweden's most popular tourist
attractions and has been seen by over 29 million visitors since 1961.
Vasa was built top-heavy and had insufficient ballast.
Despite an obvious lack of stability in port, it was allowed to set
sail and foundered only a few minutes after it first encountered a wind
stronger than a breeze. The impulsive move to set sail was the result of
a combination of factors: Swedish king Gustavou Adolphus,
who was leading the army on the continent on the date of its maiden
voyage, was impatient to see it join the Baltic fleet in the Thirty Years´ War;
at the same time, the king's subordinates lacked the political courage
to discuss the ship's structural problems frankly or to have the maiden
voyage postponed. An inquiry was organized by the Swedish privy concil to find personal responsibility for the disaster, but in the end no one was punished for the fiasco.
During the 1961 recovery, thousands of artifacts and the remains of at least 15 people were found in and around the hull of the Vasa by marine archaeologists.
Among the many items found were clothing, weapons, cannon, tools,
coins, cutlery, food, drink and six of the ten sails. The artifacts and
the ship itself have provided historians with invaluable insight into
details of naval warfare, shipbuilding techniques and everyday life in
early 17th-century Sweden. Vasa was intended to express the expansionist aspiratsions of Sweden and to glorify king Gustavus Adolphus. No expense was spared in decorating and equipping the Vasa, which was also one of the largest and most heavily armed warships of its time.

And everyone who likes "Pirates of Carribean " knows The Flying Dutchman ,I guess. The look of the fictional ship was inspired by the seventeenth century Dutch "fluyt" vessels and the Vasa.
Far, far away in Lapland in the village of Korvatunturi where
Santa Claus lives everybody are busy. It’s only 12 days to Christmas.
Little Villi like for all the elves loves Christmas and making gifts
above all.
But Villi is worried – what should he give as a gift to Santa Claus? It has to be something special.
Villi comes up with a great idea – “What if we surprise the
Santa with a little gift every day until Christmas? Twelve surprises.
That’s going to be fun.”

This beautiful postcard is from Soinsi1 ,I met her in Hämeenlinna postcrossig meeting. It was really great ,and she sent me a card. I don´t know who did she know that thos book was one of my faves during my childhood. It is called "12 gifts for Santa Claus" by Mauri Kunnas .I recommed to read this book :)
Kenya is a country in East Africa, that lies on equator. With the Indian Ocean to its south-east, it is bordered by Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, South Sudan to the north-west, Ethiopia to the north and Somalia to the north-east. Kenya has a land area of 580,000 km2 and a population of nearly 41 million, representing 42 different peoples and cultures. The country is named after Mount Kenya, a significant landmark and second among Africa´s highest mountain peaks. Kenya's capital and largest city is Nairobi.
Kenya has a warm and humid climate along its coastline on the Indian Ocean, which changes to wildlife-rich savannah grasslands moving inland towards the capital. Nairobi has a cool climate that gets colder approaching Mount Kenya,
which has three permanently snow-capped peaks. The warm and humid
tropical climate reappears further inland towards lake Victoria, before
giving way to temperate forested and hilly areas in the western region.
The North Eastern regions along the border with Somalia and Ethiopia are
arid and semi-arid areas with near-desert landscapes. Lake Victoria, the world's second largest fresh-water lake (after Lake Superior in the US and Canada) and the world's largesttropical lake, is situated to the southwest and is shared with Uganda and Tanzania. Kenya is famous for its safaris and diverse world-famous wildlife reserves such as Tsavo National Park, the Maasai Mara, Nakuru National Park, and Aberdares National Park .Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1546628831541197859.post-61099330688107071292012-06-17T20:11:00.001+03:002012-06-17T20:30:34.366+03:00Kristinehamn, SwedenKristinehamn is situated by the shores of lake Vänern.
Founded in the 12th century, the Principality of Muscovy, was able to emerge from over 200 years of Mongol domination (13th-15th centuries) and to gradually conquer and absorb surrounding principalities. In the early 17th century, a new Romanov Dynasty continued this policy of expansion across Siberia to the Pacific. Under PETER I (ruled 1682-1725), hegemony was extended to the Baltic Sea and the country was renamed the Russian Empire. During the 19th century, more territorial acquisitions were made in Europe and Asia. Defeat in the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-05 contributed to the Revolution of 1905, which resulted in the formation of a parliament and other reforms. Repeated devastating defeats of the Russian army in World War I led to widespread rioting in the major cities of the Russian Empire and to the overthrow in 1917 of the imperial household. The Communists under Vladimir LENIN seized power soon after and formed the USSR. The brutal rule of Iosif STALIN (1928-53) strengthened Communist rule and Russian dominance of the Soviet Union at a cost of tens of millions of lives. The Soviet economy and society stagnated in the following decades until General Secretary Mikhail GORBACHEV (1985-91) introduced glasnost (openness) and perestroika (restructuring) in an attempt to modernize Communism, but his initiatives inadvertently released forces that by December 1991 splintered the USSR into Russia and 14 other independent republics. Since then, Russia has shifted its post-Soviet democratic ambitions in favor of a centralized semi-authoritarian state whose legitimacy is buttressed, in part, by carefully managed national elections, former President PUTIN's genuine popularity, and the prudent management of Russia's windfall energy wealth. Russia has severely disabled a Chechen rebel movement, although violence still occurs throughout the North Caucasus.

My roots are also in Russia ,my dad is near from Yekaterinburg . As the most voluminous freshwater lake in the world, with an average depth of 744.4 m (2,442 ft), Lake Baikal contains roughly 20% of the world's surface fresh water, and is located in the south of the Russian region of Siberia (between Irkutsk Oblast to the northwest and the Buryat Republic to the southeast, near the city of Irkutsk).
At 1,642 metres (5,387 ft), Lake Baikal is the deepest, and among the clearest of all lakes in the world. At more than 25 million years old, Baikal is also the world's oldest lake. Like Lake Tanganyika, Lake Baikal was formed as an ancient rift valley, having the typical long crescent shape with a surface area of 31,722 km2/12,248 sq mi, less than that of Lake Superior or Lake Victoria. Baikal is home to more than 1,700 species of plants and animals, two thirds of which can be found nowhere else in the world and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. It is also home to Buryat tribes who reside on the eastern side of Lake Baikal, rearing goats, camels, cattle and sheep, where the regional temperature varies from a minimum of −19 °C (−2 °F) in winter to maximum of 14 °C (57 °F) in summer.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1546628831541197859.post-55763304227274141802010-12-19T16:34:00.003+02:002010-12-19T16:41:14.929+02:00Isle of Man

Beautiful card from Ria (from our private swap),sent from USA .

The Isle of Man , otherwise known simply as Mann , is a self-governing British Crown Dependency, located in the Irish Sea between the islands of Great Britain and Ireland, within the British Isles. The head of state is Queen Elizabeth II, who holds the title of Lord of Mann. The Lord of Mann is represented by a Lieutenant Governor. The island is not part of the United Kingdom, but its foreign relations and defence are the responsibility of the UK Government. Although it does not usually interfere in the island's domestic matters, its "good government" is ultimately the responsibility of the Crown (i.e., in practice, the Government of the United Kingdom).
The island has been inhabited since before 6500 BC. It began to be influenced by Gaelic culture in the AD 5th century and the Manx language, a branch of the Gaelic languages, gradually emerged. In the 9th century, the Norse began to settle there. A Norse-Gaelic culture emerged and the island came under Norse control. In 1266, the island became part of Scotland. After a period of alternating rule by the kings of Scotland and England, the island came under the feudal overlordship of the English Crown in 1399. The lordship revested into the British Crown in 1764 but the island never became part of the United Kingdom and retained its status as an internally self-governing jurisdiction.
The island is not a member of the European Union, but has a limited relationship concerning the free movement of goods.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1546628831541197859.post-56000691930798677662010-12-19T16:27:00.003+02:002010-12-19T16:33:58.766+02:00Sverige Julkort

Beautiful swedish christmascard from SusaTiina.New perfect card to my Sweden colllection.

Tack,Susa:)

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1546628831541197859.post-75113257112795343352010-09-18T20:44:00.004+03:002010-09-18T20:55:10.998+03:00Cambodia Beautiful card from Cheerful,my blogger friend:) .My first card from Cambodia :)Thank you Cheerful:).

The Kingdom of Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asia that borders Thailand to the west and northwest, Laos to the north, Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the south. The geography of Cambodia is dominated by the Mekong River and the Tonlé Sap.
The kingdom is a constitutional monarchy with Norodom Sihamoni as king who has reigned since 2004. Phnom Penh is the kingdom's capital and largest city, and is the center of political, commercial, industrial and cultural activities. Siem Reap, a city located near the famous ruins of Angkor Wat is the gateway to the Angkor region, and is Cambodia's main destination for tourism. Battambang, the largest city in western Cambodia, is known for its rice production, and Sihanoukville, a coastal city, is the primary sea port and beach resort.
Cambodia has an area of 181,035 square kilometres (69,898 sq mi) and a population of over 14 million ethnic Khmer. A citizen of Cambodia is usually identified as "Cambodian" or "Khmer", though they strictly refer to ethnic Khmers. Most Cambodians are Theravada Buddhists, but the country also have a minority number of Muslim Cham, as well as ethnic Chinese, Vietnamese and small animist hill tribes.
Agriculture has long been the most important sector to the Cambodian economy, with around 59% of the population relying on agriculture for their livelihood (with rice being the principal crop). Other important sectors include garments, construction and tourism - foreign visitors to Angkor Wat numbered more than 4 million in 2007.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
